The Howling -- Wolfpack Weekly Update (July 6, 2026)
July 6, 2026 -- FIRST, Congratulations to Kevin Bevillard whose Wife gave birth to their first child, a baby girl!! And good for her for timing things out so that he can ride the Triple Bypass this weekend... :)
Howls
Howl out to Andy "The Hammer" Solomon who is racing at the Maccabi Games in Israel which is essentially the Jewish Age Group Olympics. :) Due to water issues, the Sprint Triathlon was converted to a Sprint Duathlon. This was a bit concerning as Andy banks a super strong swim, so dropping that discipline from the race was going to be a challenge. However, Andy pullled it together and raced to a 4th place finish in M50-54! He then followed this up two days later with a GOLD Medal win at the 1500K Open Water Swim!!! He has two remaining races: The Half-Marathon (I told him to avoid aid stations managed by Organizations that begin with the letter "H") and the Time Trial.
Can't say enough about Andy as a racer. I've known Andy for probably 15 years. He has always been a fine racer; but, over the past few years has really come into his own as a competitor in any race he attends. He's another person that really manages his time effectively to get something in every day. As Andy and family are moving to Florida to New Jersey, typically, when I see personal events like this, Training tends to go out the window. But for Andy, he just worked Training into his days and his dedication to really stepping up his running capability and dedication to working on aerodynamics and his overall bike capabilty have really blossomed over the last two years leading him to being the racer he is today!
Howl out to our Independence Day Racers!
Kabir "Kaboom" Ghale landed just off the podium placing 4th M30-39 (3rd M35-39) at the July 4th Rock-it-Run 5K in Castle Rock, Colorado. This is another Personal Record for Kabir this year!!!
Lisa "SheWolf" Rosysnky raced at the nearly 100 degrees Firecracker 4 Miler in Cranford NJ! Those types of races, I'd actually overheat and implode inside. Good for her for working her way through it!
Chris and I raced the Independence Day Rendezvous Run in Winter Park, Colorado (You run from the Winter Park Gondola to Downtown along the Fraser River Trail). Ended up being a huge race where they ran out of Bibs so anyone that registered race day didn't get a time... Chris took 3rd F50-59 (1st F55-59) and I took 7th M50-59 (4th M55-59).
Get Ready to Howl for this Weekend' Racers!
As mentioned, Andy "The Hammer" Solomon will be racing the Half-Marathon (Tomorrow/Tuesday) and the Time Trial (thursday) ast the Maccabi Games!
Mary "The Mtn Goat" Hofteizer the Rocky Mountain Road Runner 2 Miler at Stone House Park in Lakewood, Colorado.
Kevin Bevillard and Dave "Big Horn" Buchwald will be doing the Triple Bypass which is 120 Mile Ride From Evergreen, Colorado over 3 Mountain Passes (Swan Mountain should count and it should be the Quadruple...) through Vail to Avon, CO (It used to end on the east side of Vail, but now adds 20 miles to Avon. That last 20 is a slog...)
I'll be racing Boulder Peak Olympic Tri
We have some big races coming up as well.
