Howl out to Andy "The Hammer" Solomon who in the second week of the Maccabi Games in Israel (essentially the Jewish Age Group Olympics) went on to race the Half-Marathon where he placed 4th in his AG; then, absolutely crushed the 12.4 mile Time Trial where he placed 2nd in his AG with an incredible average of 24.5 mph. Andy has been tinkering on his aero set-up and really laid into that ride!,, Overall, it was a great showing for Andy!!!!

If anyone has really embraced training and integrated it into his lifestyle, it's Andy. When we talked after the TT, he made a comment thanking me for the coaching. My comment back was that he was at a point where the Coaching would be valuable and help improve results. In short, which I mentiooned before, Andy has always been a fine racer and consistently changed. Therefore, once you have this base, Coaching can provide a ton of value as it gives you a different approach to train which fires up additional, and sometimes dormant, capabilities. His cross-the-board excellent performance at Maccabi was a capstone event for him!

Howl out to our Triple Bypass Riders which is 119 Miles from Evergreen to Vail/Avon and nearly 11K ft of climbing over 3 mountain passes. It was a hot and windy day. Hard! First, Howl out to Dave "Big Horn" Buchwald. As metnioned, I have tons of respect for Dave, as he picked all this up this year at 60 years old and has really integrated Training into his life style. Honestly, I didn't know if he'd be able to make it as this ride can be brutal. But, he's got a strong heart and he did! Very happy for him.

Second, Howl out to Kevin Bevillard who crushed his ride knocking over 40 minutes of his best ride ever. Kevin is a big, tall guy and pounding up those hills with that heat into a headwind was going to make it a rough day. He also has a buddy that he was "racing" and his friend had to drop out before the final climb up Vail Pass. Really happy for him and can't wait to see him on the Triathlon course soon!

Howl out to Mary "The Mountain Goat" Hoftiezer who knocked down the Rocky Mtn Road Runners 2 MIler!

Finally, I raced the Boulder Peak Olympic Tri which is the 5th oldest triathlon in the country and notable as it has a 2.2 Mile climb which an elevation gain of 500 ft that has about 1/2 mile at 10-15%. I blew my 9 minute lead off the bike and placed 2nd M55-59. The guy that ran me down legs are literally, collectively, the size of one of mine. The picture on Strava is pretty funny!

Get Ready to HOWL for this weekend's racers as it is a big one!

Matt "Jiffy" Lubiak is racing IronMan Lake Placid on Sunday! Be sure to download the App and watch his day. Looking forward to it as I think it is the first IronMan he's gone into without breaking his foot while running, getting hit by a car while biking, or slipping on the pool deck and getting a concussion. We can't wait to watch this race on Sunday!

Lisa "SheWolf" Rosynsky will be racing the New Jersey State Sprint Tri. This is one of my favorite races as the bike course is a completely flat rocket-ride! Go Lisa!!!

In Colorado, there'll be a bunch of us at Tri-Boulder.

Mary "Mtn Goat" Hofteizer and Alan "Lime with Your" Corona will be racing the Tri-Boulder Beast Tri (2K Swim / 50 Mile Ride / 9 Mile Run)!

Kabir "Kaboom" Ghale and I will be at the Tri-Boulder Olympic Tri!

Chris Kachinsky-Bye and I will be doing the Sprint (Note: This is Chris' return to racing after shoulder surgery last September) with, MAYBE AFTER A LITTLE PRODDING, Dave "Big Horn" Buchwald and the return of (again maybe), Will "Big Angry Bird" Matthews!!!!!
