The Howling -- Wolfpack Weekly Update (August 9, 2026)
August 9, 2026 -- Howls
Howl out Lisa "SheWolf" Rosynsky who raced in the USA Triathlon National Championships in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this weekend. Lisa raced the Draft-Legal Sprint on Friday, Aug 7 (placed 10th in F45-49) and the Sprint race on Sunday, Aug 9 (Solid 42nd in F45-49)! SheWolf is building up to the Draft Legal World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain!!!
Howl out to Andy "The Hammer" Solomon who raced his first Florida triathlon as a resident at the the AdventHealth Cool Sommer Mornings Double Sprint Triathlon. Yes, you do two Sprint races in row one after the other. He placed 4th Overall (#01 Master's). Really quite an awesome performance and, although first and second ran some stupidly fast runs, Andy was 90 seconds from landing 3rd Overall. Really great day!
Howl out to RJ "The BoogeyMan" Boergers who raced in the High Peaks Cyclery Mini-Triathlon in Lake Placid NY where he took 1st M50-59! :)
Howl out to Lisa and to RJ "BoogeyMan" Boergers who, a couple weeks ago (July 26) raced in the Garden State Swim Run in New Jersey. Both did so on with a tethered partner and won their respective division. :)
Howl out to Dave "Big Horn" Buchwald who went out to race the Steamboat Gravel Sprint Triathlon. Dave has a nagging calf injury that he has been dealing with for the last couple months. And, although he had to bail on the run, put together an excellent Swim (Top 50% of field for a guy who swam for the first time last October -- He's 60 years old...) and Bike effort (Top 25% of Entire Field!). Really proud of him.
Although he hasn't raced IronMan Wisconsin yet as we are a month out. I owe a Howl to Allen "The Raptor" Corona for the effort he is putting in on the run-up to that race. It's not Hard to do an IronMan, it's hard to Train for an IronMan so that you can put together a solid race. The Raptor has been really working hard in this super hot weather to get his work in by going out early and, when it gets unbearable out, going back inside and putting the rest of the miles on the Trainer, and, as he has some travel as of late, maximizing his downtime by doing some excellent long volume runs and finding pools to do some long swims. IronMan can be a great, fun experience if you are ready for it and he's working hard to get ready for it. If you are wondering "The Raptor" nickname is from Jurassic Park 3... My texts all start with that Meme and it makes me laugh everytime... :)
Chris and I raced (if you want to call it that...) the Mt Blue Sky Hill Climb (About 7K over 27 Miles to 14,000+) two Saturdays ago and, last weekend, the Crooked Gravel 67 Mile (for me) and 25 Mile for Chris. Chris took 3rd F50-59!
