First some YELPS.
Yelp out to our IronMan 70.3 Coeur d'Alene (Idaho) racers, Mara "The Monster" Monaco and Sawyer "Thunder" Jacobson. They shortened the swim to, what looked like, a run to the water, splash your face, then run to Transition! :) Mara and Rob moved up to Washington last fall for job and she'd been working to get back after racing, so happy to see her cross the finish line! Sawyer brought the "Power Thighs" (makes me look like Barbie) out to a couple TT Stampedes so was looking forward to seeing him crush that bike course and he did! :)
Yelp out to my age group TT frienemy Kevin "The Barbarian" Smith who took first in the Aquabike at Loveland Lake to Lake Triathlon in Colorado! Nice!
HOWLS
Howl out to Eric "The Butcher" Gutknecht who took 2nd in the Aquabike at Loveland Lake to Lake Tri right behind The Barbarian! Great work Butcher (now that The Boys nexst season is out, good match there... :) )
Howl out to Matt "Jiffy" Lubiak who took 2nd Overall at the Sunset Lake Olympic Tri in New Jersey. The performance was stellar, but notably was that his bike split was the 2nd fastest in the entire field. Matt has been working to find his inner beast to bring it out on the bike over the past couple years. It's really hard to tap into your true bike capability and nice to see the work on the Trainer is translating outdoors. You won't win the race on the bike, but it keeps you in the Mix and allows, those with awesome runs, like Jiffy to really decimate the field. So happy to see this!!! :)
